Balhungie Berry Farm

Balhungie Berry Farm

Two of our lovely growers David and Michelle Porter have run Balhungie Berry Farm, since 1998 in the beautiful Monifieth in the East Coast of Scotland in Co. Angus.

They grow 20 acres of strawberries, 6 acres of raspberries, 150 acres of potatoes, 600 acres of cereal crops and they just started growing blueberries in 2015. But aside from all this activity they also have a FABULOUS farm shop that sells delicious VERY fresh fruit as well as homegrown tatties, vegetables and eggs and are now serving absolutely delicious cream teas – served on the old tennis court! So why not pop along for a cuppa with their hand reared lambs, the little rescue pony, Rosie and look at the magnificent view over the Tay. You’ll find them on the road between Monifieth and Newbigging. Open 7 days a week from mid-May to the last day of August from 10am until 6pm. Look out for the notices on the roads or check them out on Facebook

Every time you buy a punnet of strawberries Balhungie provide at least one meal for a malnourished child living in absolute poverty: they are proud to support ABC Africa with a percentage of their profits.

“Our technical team has between us all, an incredible 145 years of experience in soft fruit, which shows our dedication, depth of knowledge and passion for our crops!” David Cuthbert, Technical and Development Director, ASF
